2024-2025 Fairview Elementary Car-Line and Dismissal Information
Our first bell rings at 7:55 AM. Classroom instruction begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM.
At Fairview Elementary, we believe that #AttendanceMatters and that absences are lost opportunities to learn in the classroom! Some absences are unavoidable, but it’s important that students are at school from bell-to-bell as often as possible. Beginning in kindergarten, regular attendance is often an indicator of higher academic performance. Students who are at #SchoolEveryDay also do better academically in middle school and are more likely to graduate high school.
To make sure ALL of our students and teachers can maximize instruction time and minimize interruptions, we ask that students not be checked out after 2:45 PM.
Please do not park in the bus lane in front of the school at any time. If you need to walk your child inside during the day, please park in one of the front parking lots.
Car-Line 101 | Car-rider Dismissal at 3PM
All cars should turn off Fairview Road onto Dogwood Street, then turn left to enter the car rider circle drive. Immediately form a double-line of cars. Merge at the other end of the covered area on the walking track.
All car-riders will be expected to follow our car tag number system and have the tag/number visible in your car when picking up your child. Vehicles without a car tag will be asked to pull out of line and show identification before signing out a student.
If you are a returning student and still have your car tags from last year, please continue using them. Siblings will use the same car tag number. Students new to the building will be issued new car tags. If you do not have your tag from last year or if additional tags are needed, we will issue a new number.
As you reach the covered drop-off/pickup area, there are enough spots for 4 cars to unload and load at once. Please pull all the way up to the farthest available spot.
To help the car-rider line move safely and efficiently, please have students enter and exit vehicles only from the rear driver side if possible.
During morning drop-off, it’s also helpful for students to be ready to exit the car (free of technology, seatbelt off, wearing their backpack, etc.) before the car reaches the covered walkway area.
Students not picked up by 3:20 PM will be brought inside and should be picked up from the school office.
Walker Dismissal | 3:15PM
Families who prefer to walk-up to get their child at afternoon dismissal may park in either of the front parking lots. Walkers will be dismissed to their parent/guardian at the FES front door following the departure of all buses.
Please remain in your vehicle until all buses have left FES, then come to the front entrance with your child’s car tag.
Our FES team will bring your child to you at the front entrance. Please do not enter FES during dismissal.
Bus Dismissal | 3:10PM
Bus-riders are dismissed from their classrooms to the FES Play Room, where teachers line them up in their bus lines.
Teachers take their afternoon bus line from the Play Room to the bus and assist students in loading onto the bus.
To minimize daily changes and ensure every student gets on the correct bus, please make every effort to have your child ride the same bus every day.
If you must change your child’s afternoon transportation for a day, please send a written note in your child’s folder to their teacher.
If you must change your child’s afternoon transportation after the school day has started, please do so by emailing Mrs. Tereasa at tingram@cfcards.net and copying your child’s teacher on the email. Please include your student’s name, teacher, and the address to which they’ll be riding.
We cannot take transportation changes after 2:00 PM.
Thanks for helping us start this school year off right!
