Let's Start With One Good Thing!

At FES, students have been learning about all the achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and why he is so important! In Mrs. Terra's Music Class, students sang "Sing About Martin" and "Martin Luther King" last week and this week.

Here's the link to the song "Sing About Martin". We hope your family enjoys it as much as our students do!

Announcements & Reminders:

ATLAS Interim Testing:
  • January 22-23 | 1st grade (AM)
  • January 27 & 29 | Kindergarten (AM) & 2nd grade (PM)
  •  February 2-5 | 3rd grade (AM)
Help your child to do their best on the test by encouraging them, making sure they get a good night's sleep the night before, feeding them a healthy breakfast, and making sure they are on time for school on test day. Thanks for your support!

100th Day of School is Monday, January 26! We're encouraging students to dress up like they are 100 years old or with themed shirts! Classes will also have fun 100th day activities and a special snack day!

Reminders:
  • Attendance Matters! Please help support your child's learning by making sure they are at school on time and all day every day possible.

  • Add extra clothes to your child's backpack and put their name in their coat! Please keep an extra change of clothes (shirt, shorts/pants, socks, & underwear) in your child's backpack at all times. This is a big help if your child has an accident on the playground, at lunchtime, or in the bathroom!

  • No open-toed shoes. This includes flip flops, sandals, and slides – please make sure your child doesn't wear these to school. They can cause safety issues on the playground and don't keep little toes warm enough in the winter!

Readers are Leaders!

Check out the K-3 Home Guide to Reading Success!

At Fairview Elementary, we believe reading success starts with strong partnerships between home and school. To support our K–3 families, we’re sharing the Home Guide to Reading Success — a simple, fun handout full of easy strategies to help your child grow as a reader.

Let’s work together to make reading a daily part of family life!
