I graduated high school in 2008 from Bryant High School. I continued my education at Pulaski Tech and finished my degree in cosmetology in 2009, and general studies until 2011. In 2011 I transferred to Southern Arkansas University where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Early childhood education in the spring of 2016.
I did my student teaching in the spring of 2016 at Smackover Elementary in a first grade classroom. I was hired at Camden Fairview Elementary only a few days after graduating. This is my second year teaching 1st grade here at FES and I love it!!
In July of 2011 I married my best friend and we have now been married 6 years. We have a daughter who is 5 years old and has started Kindergarten at Smackover this year. I have one dog named Sophie. We have had her nearly 6 years. We adopted her when we found her starving and freezing in our front yard at thanksgiving, and we are forever thankful to have her. I also have a cat named Pepper. We found her in our yard almost a year ago and she has been our baby ever since.
When I am not teaching I love spending time with my family and pets. I love to go fishing with my dad, which has been a family tradition for generations. I love to sew and make things. My daughter, Rebecca has an abundance of homemade bows, dresses, tutus, blankets, quilts and other things I have made for her. I like to make things for my classroom, such as games and other learning tools. I love to bake. When someone in my family has a birthday I am always the one to make the cake. During my spare time when I am not at home or school after hours, I can often be found at church working in the office or teaching AWANAs or Sunday school.
